Barnshaws continue to improve children’s playground experience


Barnshaws latest and many years repeat project- cantilever swings produced to company Safe and Sound Playgrounds, which are later sold to councils and enjoyed by children all over the UK.
Cantilever swing was manufactured from zinc-sprayed and powder-coated mild steel with steel core rope. Barnshaws specialist benders supplied 200 x 120 x 8 RHS rolled to 4600 RAD, 5529 arc + 1090 straight one end and 120 x 120 x 8 SHS curved to 3248 RAD, 1934 arc + 800 straight one end.
Barnshaws has bent a number of these large boxes to tight radii and is continuously receiving orders due to great customer service and excellent bending service provided.

Popular mosque in Sheffield shaped by Barnshaws expert benders


Barnshaw Section Benders were awarded the Al Emaan Mosque bending work this January. The job contracted by company App Steel Structures involved Barnshaws experts forming the main frame ribs and curving the support steelwork in 2 planes (canted).
Barnshaws benders received the structural project due to excellent technical expertise of ‘canting’ the 100 x 60 RHS and mandrel forming of 200 x 100 RHS to minimize distortion.
Barnshaws supplied the mosque with 200 x 100 x 6.3 RHS and 100 x 60 x 3 RHS, which were approximately 4 tonnes.

Beautifully bent architectural decoration for St. Elizabeth primary school in London


Shelmar Engineering approached Barnshaws benders with the job earlier this year, as the customer required the bends very quickly and without any deformation.
These were 76.1 o/DIA x 6mm CHS bent to 600 m/Radius.  The separate bends will be welded together to form a tree-shaped architectural piece to decorate the interior of St. Elizabeth primary school in London.
